The purpose of the Code is to express community standards of honesty, respect for persons and property, and responsible use of freedom. The Code reflects the College’s mission and identity, and it exists to guide conduct, safeguarding and promoting the College’s educational activity.

CODE OF ETHICS FOR TEACHING STAFF

  • The Management appeals to all staff members to work as a team in institution-building and in upgrading our institution into one of Excellence in Higher Learning.
  • Teachers should teach the subjects assigned by the Head of the Department.
  • Teachers should complete the syllabus in time.
  • Teachers shall produce good results in the subjects taught/handled by them.
  • Teachers must report in time to duty as per the working hours prescribed and should be available in the campus unless and otherwise, they are assigned duties elsewhere.
  • Teachers are expected to be present in the college campus 10 minutes before the College time. Teachers should remain in the campus till the end of the College hours.
  • Prior written permission is required from the Principal / atleast a day in advance while availing CL or OD.
  • Not more than 25% of staff members in a Department will be allowed to go on OD / CL on a particular day.
  • Prior written permission should be obtained for reporting late in the morning or leaving early in the evening without detriment to their duties. This is subject to restrictions as regards frequency. Permission for going out of the College shall not be given during the class hours.
  • Teachers should sign the attendance register while reporting for duty.
  • All must report for duty on the reopening day and the last working day of each semester.
  • Teachers should maintain dignity both inside and outside the classroom and set a good example to the students.
  • Teachers should be goodcounselors and Initiators. They should help, guide, encourage, inspire and promote the students to confirm that the Teaching-Learning Process is effective, positive and successful.
  • Teachers should maintain decorum both inside and outside the classroom and set a good example to the students.
  • Teachers shall monitor the respective group of students who are attached to them.
  • Teachers should carry out academic, co-curricular and organizational activities that may be assigned to them from time to time.
  • Teachers are encouraged to write text books, publish articles in reputed Journals and present papers in Seminars and Conferences.
  • Teachers are encouraged to take up Research projects.
  • Teachers should attend Faculty Development Programs and Quality Improvement Programmes etc to update their knowledge.
  • Teachers should not involve themselves in any act of immorality on their part which may cause damage or bring discredit to the institution or Management.
  • Any instructions issued by the Competent Authority by way of Circulars from time to time must be complied with.
  • Teachers are barred from using cell phones while taking classes.
  • Teachers are expected to attend Department academic association meetings, seminars etc and also college functions like Sports Day, College Day, Independence Day and Republic Day celebrations without fail.
  • Teachers are expected to Volunteer, to take up extra classes for students of Certificate, Diploma and other Career Oriented Programmes.
  • HODs are responsible for all the college properties belonging to their department. It is their responsibility to keep them clean and in working order. Any loss or damage to their property (like, tables, chairs, lab equipments, chemicals, electrical appliances) must be reported to the Principal in writing immediately. It is their duty to extract work from the Non-Teaching staff in keeping the Department clean & Tidy.
  • Department Associations should plan well in advance their activities for the semester and submit the same to the Principal with the Budget.
  • All department meetings of Teachers shall be held only after college hours and not during class hours. No department staff meeting should be held during class hours.

CODE OF ETHICS FOR NON-TEACHING STAFF

  • Non-teaching staff should exhibit the uppermost values of professional conduct that is required in an educational establishment.
  • Non-Teaching staff working in the College office or departments should remain on Duty during College hours (9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.). They should report for duty at least 30 minutes in advance.
  • Non-teaching staff will carry out their duties as instructed by the authorities to whom they are attached.
  • Non-Teaching Staff assigned to Laboratories should keep the Labs clean.
  • Any Loss or damage to any article in the Lab or Class Room should be reported to the HOD in writing immediately.
  • Non-Teaching Staff, working in the Lab, shall maintain a stock register for all the articles, equipments, chemicals, etc. It shall be submitted to the HOD and the Principal at the end of each semester and their signatures obtained.
  • Non-teaching staff should co-operate with the teaching staff, their colleagues, providing support, help and assistance as required and facilitate effective communication throughout the college.
  • Non-teaching staff should not use their position in the institute for any misconduct, either with the students or with any faculty member.
  • Non-teaching staff should maintain good relationship and proper interaction with the students.
  • Non-teaching staff should take full efforts to meet required standards in completing assigned duties
  • Non-teaching staff should accord just and unbiased treatment to all students irrespective of religion, community, caste, creed, sex, economic and social status.

CODE OF ETHICS FOR STUDENTS

  • Students should speak and act toward all students with respect and dignity; and deal judiciously with them at all times, always mindful of their individual rights and personal sensibilities.
  • Students should respects the dignity and responsibilities by cooperating teachers, peers, principals, parents, and other professionals or para-professionals within the college and community.
  • Students must maintain the highest standards of discipline and decent behaviour inside the campus as well as outside.
  • They shall strictly follow the rules and regulations of the college to maintain the dignity and esteem of the college.
  • Students are expected to strictly follow the 6-day work schedule Monday to Saturday. Students must attend classes regularly in order to reach the desirable standards of academic attainment.
  • Any form of ragging and harassment of the fellow students in the campus is strictly prohibited and refrained. If found guilty he/she will be liable for criminal offence as per law, following the directives of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.
  • Students shall come to the college in approved dress code.
  • Students are expected to preserve silence and dignity in the academic buildings.
  • Students must keep the campus neat and clean and not throw waste in the campus except in the waste baskets kept.
  • Students must refrain from doing any damage to the property of the institution.
